The Pacific Academy of Sciences is honoured to announce that the Prime Minister of Samoa, Hon. La’aulialemalietoa Leuatea Polataivao Fosi Schmidt, will deliver the Opening Address at our upcoming Pacific Academy of Sciences Inaugural Congress 2026.

As Prime Minister of the host nation, his address will formally open the Congress in Apia and set the tone for three days of dialogue, collaboration, and celebration of Pacific knowledge. Aligned with the theme “Harnessing the Knowledge of the Pacific”, the Congress affirms the value of Pacific knowledge systems and scientific excellence in shaping policy, practice, and future pathways for our Blue Pacific region.
