The Pacific Academy of Sciences is honoured to announce that His Excellency Tapusalaia Terry Toomata, former Ambassador of Samoa to the People’s Republic of China, will serve as Master of Ceremonies for the Pacific Academy of Sciences Inaugural Congress 2026.
He has held key diplomatic posts in Samoa’s missions in Washington, D.C. and New York and previously served as Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Samoa. He has also represented Samoa on the governing councils and task forces of major regional organisations, including the Pacific Islands Forum, the Pacific Community (SPC), the Secretariat of the Pacific Regional Environment Programme (SPREP), and the Forum Fisheries Agency (FFA).
With extensive experience in diplomacy and regional affairs, he brings seasoned leadership and international perspective to this inaugural gathering of Pacific science.
