Professor Ora Renagi has been the Vice Chancellor for Papua New Guinea University of Technology (PNGUoT) since 2019. He was the Deputy Vice Chancellor for five years prior to taking on the VC post. PNGUoT has the largest postgraduate school in PNG with over 230 students, supervised by professors with expertise in their various disciplines and fields.

As a leader, Professor Renagi has a strategy with focus on building a world-class university. World-class in a sense, that research must be focused on real world issues leading to solutions. One million PNG Kina is budgeted annually for research, with academics publishing 70-80 papers annually in indexed journals.
