Pacific Academy of Sciences Website Launch
Harnessing the Knowledge of the Pacific
As part of our one year anniversary, the Pacific Academy of Sciences is pleased to announce the launch of our website – where Pacific wisdom meets digital innovation. We invite you to explore a platform that is designed for connection, collaboration, inspiration and action.
Our website is a significant step in enhancing our Pacific voice in sciences across the globe and our connection and connectivity to our island communities that make up this special part of the world. (Sir Collin Tukuitonga, Chairperson, PAS Trust)
By bridging the gaps created by physical distances, our website empowers Pacific individuals and communities to connect, share and harness the knowledge of the Pacific in an increasingly digital world.
Our website is more than a digital space; it is a living ecosystem inspired by the Giant Clam and our ancestral and contemporary Navigators where traditional and modern knowledge systems combine to nurture a thriving Pacific region.
Our logo represents the Giant Clam. Common throughout the Pacific region it holds deep cultural significance. Symbolically it is the shape of a knowledge holder linking us to the Pacific ocean that connects us all together. The Giant Clam protects, connects, nourishes and innovates – it is a symbol of resilience and symbiosis.
We invite you to visit the website to explore current features and sign up for updates to stay connected.
