About this event

Nadi Climate and Health Futures Conference is a two-day hybrid gathering for people working where climate risk, health systems and community resilience meet.

The programme focuses on evidence that can be used quickly: heat and vector-borne disease readiness, disaster recovery, mental wellbeing after extreme weather, and better ways to share data across islands without losing local context.

Participants joining online will be included in plenary questions, moderated working groups and a shared recommendations session. The conference closes with a practical agenda for research partnerships that can support health planning before the next cyclone season.

Programme

Day 1 - Climate pressure on health systems

Regional briefings on heat, water security and disease surveillance, followed by panels on how evidence reaches frontline health and disaster teams.

Day 2 - Building the next research partnerships

Interactive clinics on community ethics, data sharing and implementation pathways, ending with a joint priorities session for the year ahead.

Speakers

Speakers will include Pacific public health researchers, climate adaptation specialists, community resilience practitioners and early-career Pacific Futures fellows.
