The Pacific Academy of Sciences (PAS) is pleased to announce that applications are now open for the Pacific Futures Mentoring Programme.
The programme connects emerging, early and mid-career Pacific researchers with experienced PAS Fellows and Members to support knowledge exchange, professional development, cultural insight and research leadership across the Pacific.
The Pacific Futures Mentoring Programme contributes to PAS's mission of strengthening Pacific scientific leadership, mentorship, collaboration, knowledge exchange and community impact. It supports the development of emerging Pacific researchers, innovators and knowledge holders while fostering meaningful connections across the region.

The programme offers benefits for both mentors and mentees. Mentees receive support, encouragement and constructive feedback from an experienced researcher, while mentors have the opportunity to contribute to the development of emerging Pacific researchers and further strengthen their own leadership, mentoring and communication skills.
The programme follows a 12-month cycle, including eight months of active mentorship from February to September 2027.
Eligibility
To participate as a mentor or mentee, applicants must hold PAS membership. Those who are not yet members are encouraged to join the Academy and gain access to this and other opportunities that support Pacific research careers and leadership development.
There is no financial cost to participate in the programme.
