Register now for our inaugural Congress in Samoa. Travel grants available!
We are pleased to announce that our inaugural Pacific Academy of Sciences Congress: Harnessing the Knowledge of the Pacific, is taking place on 16 to 18 February 2026 in Apia, Samoa. This is a free event thanks to the generous support of the International Science Council Regional Focal Point for Asia and the Pacific funded by the Australian Government Department of Industry, Science and Resources.
We are now accepting registrations and panel, paper, and PhD poster proposals. Travel grants for presenters from the region are available thanks to the generous support of the Sasakawa Peace Foundation. To apply for a Pacific Travel Grant, please complete registration with your panel, paper or PhD poster, and provide a short bio using the link below.
Across three collaborative days, we’ll bring the region and partners together to bridge knowledge gaps, foster collaboration, and strengthen stakeholder capacity.

For panels:
Please submit a panel proposal of max 500 words noting which priority area your panel relates to
Name panel members and their organisation/institution
At least one panel member needs to be based in the region e.g. a regional university, NGO or organisation
Interactive panels are preferred
For papers:
Please submit a max 500 word abstract noting which priority area your paper relates to
For posters:
Please submit a max 250 word abstract noting which priority area your poster relates to
We welcome posters from emerging researchers to showcase early-stage ideas, work in progress or new results
To apply for a Pacific Travel Grant:
Please add a short bio (max 50 words) to your panel / paper / poster submission
All submissions are due by 3pm Wednesday 10 December 2025 (Samoa local time GMT +13) via the registration form. Those selected will be notified by Thursday 18 December 2025
